At best, this film would be a 6 out of 10. Points deducted for being ripped moving halfway decent Van Damme “Bloodsport” and fight scenes realistic rather poor. Written by Frank Dux (The current sample portrayed in “Bloodsport”) and Van Damme, the story still has some differences “Bloodsport”, but pale in comparison to the similarities. This film is no limit plagiarism. The acting in the film is almost decent, a fact that can be attributed to the presence of Roger, and minimal lines made Van Damme. The fight scenes, while flashy, practiced and look fake. 4/10
Personally, I liked The research has had a solid story for himself and fights were decent if not spectacular, but at the end of Abdel Qissi and Van Damme was a bit ‘disappointing considering the potential that he had, it was still a barn burner very good. I loved the flashback scenes with Mom Van Damme drop a note and Chris (Van Damme) has continued to try to take it and they wake up, and Roger Moore has done a great comedy relief in it also, more j have loved the trick Van Damme as the old man was fantastic!. The fighting in the tournament is a bit ‘faster, but always interesting, and Van Damme has done a decent job for a first time director fight choreography could have been a bit’ better, but overall a pretty nice job for a director time!. This is not the best movie of Van Damme arts civilians, but all Van Damme fans are sure to love, as I highly recommend it to anyone interested in martial arts your dress to find at least a little ‘fun in it!. *** 1/2 of 5
acting is well above the average!. Jean Claude Van Damme is not bad acting here in the department, but it is the martial arts that really shine, it’s just a lot of fun to watch with his skills, he also had some beautiful scenes with Roger Moore, pretty decent directorial debut of Jean Claude! . Roger Moore is very funny and I broke Lord Dobbs often throughout the film with his own means and intrigue brought many great moments!. James Remar is good for the experienced fighter Maxie Devine, was charismatic I liked it. Janet Gunn is as good as a journalist, had nothing special to do, but it is a good and it was nice. Jack McGee as a good friend Dobb was fun. Aki Aleong Khao is good and had a great scene emotionally. Abdel Qissi is definitely great, but for me, it was not threatening.
Set in 1920, Chris Dubois (Van Damme) is a street that leads clown makeup, a funny hat, and walking on stilts for a living. Adventure finds him when he finds himself a stowaway on a boat in the direction of the mysterious island of Muay Thai. There he learns martial arts and then in Tibet, meets the charming Lord Dobbs (Moore) and his assistant Smythe (McGee). E ‘at this time that Chris wants to be involved in Ghan Geng, a secret underground fighting tournament. The winner gets a huge golden dragon, and has an interest in Chris Dobbs win, as he wants the Dragon. Fighters are invited from all over the world, and America is represented by boxer Maxie Devine (Remar). Chris must take his place in the tournament and defeat the left Khan (Quissi) to win it all. In addition, there is a sweet little love story ‘with journalist Carrie Newton women (Gunn).
Van Damme has done a great job with his first professional contract office. After co-wrote the film with shots (1988) by Frank Dux guy, you know roughly what to expect, but this film is rated PG-13, so it was clearly trying to get the kind Punchfighting general acceptance. With its smooth and Hollywood score by Randy Edelman booming scan, the final product is perfect for children 13 years old, probably his target demographic.
Interesting that the film is a period film, and it sounds like a prequel to Bloodsport. Instead of Kumite is Ghan Geng. Van Damme test a number of characters in “Old Man Van Damme” to “Van Damme The Clown” and many things in between. Presence of Roger Moore adds class and respectability to the proceedings, and James Remar Quiet Cool (1986) stands out as the Devine glory. It ‘s always nice to see. Janet Gunn Night of The Running Man (1995) and The Sweeper (1996) is a smokescreen, but not much else.
It ‘important to remember that this was when video games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter were at the peak of their popularity, for example, when the Ghan Geng section of the film begins (about half) -. the plot ‘s stops. It ‘s just a fighter a country facing another fighter from another country. It gets very repetitive after a while ‘paralyzing. Punchfighters others do not. Punchfighting vary with scenes of other things incomplete. It is not the case here. Furthermore, the fact that the film is a sort of on the long side does not help matters. search for what should be an R-rated Punchfighter 80 minutes. Simply cut the length, but the addition of more violence would help enormously., But they were not in this audience, unfortunately. research
is a great “adventure” in the film where the characters are in search of a “lost city” and many countries and epochs are represented. This could be a good way to start a younger audience to watch the film career of Van Damme action movie Punchfighters but only for adults .. Van Damme or perhaps Roger Moore collector must apply

This is easily one of my favorite Van Damme movie, and I really can not understand why little attention compared to his other works. I chose to ignore the stigma that surrounds Frank Dux (co-writer) for the time being, and instead focus on something different, in essence, in this review. Action fans of all backgrounds can appreciate the issues at stake here.
same Van Damme is in top form, acrobatics and spectacular martial arts moves on the screen for good Bloodsport. The occasional ambiguity about the purpose of his character in this film is refreshing. In general, there are very few affecting purity or innocence in the protagonist of a film like this, but some references to the reputation of thieves in society the viewer to really think twice about moral character Dubois Van Damme. Of course, he tries to make a better life for themselves and others misfits in the streets that he left behind, but at the end of the day, deals with shady activities.
Roger Moore did a great job, well, Roger Moore (and that’s fine with me). James Remar plays a braggart who changes his ways forward, as he often does, but this time his motives are a bit ‘more temperate. This is by far one of my favorite shows Remar. I feel like an entire movie can be made about its Maxie Devine and would be endlessly entertaining.
Overall, the performances are solid throughout. Positions are catchy and some of marine and cloak and dagger is thrown into the streets to compare gravel presentiment of the United States and the mystery of the place of the tournament. I would not hesitate to recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a little ‘unintentional humor and dialogue eye rolling in their action gumbo. Most fans of Van Damme’ve probably seen and should verify if it is not.
Why would you want to do this movie! There is absolutely no good, the fights are boring as hell, and the plot is so bad it’s not funny. I can not take Frank Dux a role in this -. I guess he wanted to do another
Bloodsport Jean Claude really stinks as a director. John, if you read this you fight stick? Basically, this film would never have been done.
